Job Summary
Act as a Principal Safety Analysis Engineer expert or approver, responsible for developing and reviewing execution strategies, implementation plans, interface management, baseline data, risk control, and specialized design solutions for the Safety Analysis discipline. Ensure the quality of design deliverables, identify potential project risks, and formulate appropriate mitigation measures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review technical specifications for safety studies and loss prevention to support bid evaluation, clarification, and briefing processes
- Lead and coordinate safety study workshops such as HAZID and HAZOP to identify and mitigate risks effectively
- Review third-party safety study reports, track comments, and ensure timely closure of issues to maintain project safety standards
- Prepare, track, and close out HSE registers and related safety analysis reports to ensure compliance and documentation accuracy
- Communicate proactively with clients to address and resolve comments related to safety studies, ensuring alignment with project requirements
- Collaborate with relevant disciplines to coordinate safety study activities and integrate safety considerations across engineering teams
- Provide technical support for fire fighting equipment procurement, fabrication, and construction to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Execute other temporary assignments as required by the company, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to project success
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor degree or higher with a senior professional title
- Over 15 years of experience in offshore engineering safety design, including offshore platforms, FPSO, and semi-submersible platforms
- Mastery of international mainstream safety analysis principles, methods, and workshop facilitation with the ability to independently organize safety analyses
- Proficiency in international safety and fire protection design standards such as API and NFPA
- Expertise in developing conventional safety and fire protection plans and system designs within the petroleum and petrochemical industry
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong coordination and organizational skills demonstrated by leading cross-functional teams to resolve safety issues and communicate effectively
- Proficient in using common office and drawing software to prepare technical documentation and drawings
- Demonstrated work ethic characterized by diligence, rigor, responsibility, and flexibility to work overtime as project demands require
