Introduction

Brunel is partnered with a leading financial institution to hire a Broadridge Technical Lead focused on BPS, the firm's core post-trade platform for U.S. Capital Markets.

The organization is investing heavily in BPS as its long-term book-of-record system and is looking for a senior expert who can deepen internal capability, reduce dependency on external consultants, and help the team deliver faster and with more confidence.

What are you going to do

Role Overview

The Broadridge Technical Lead is a senior, hands-on BPS specialist who combines platform expertise, functional analysis, and technical troubleshooting.

You will:

  • Own and guide BPS configuration and behavior (particularly B1 and related parameters).
  • Translate business requirements into functional designs and testable changes.
  • Analyze upstream and downstream impacts across the trade lifecycle.
  • Coach other team members and act as the primary liaison with Broadridge on BPS topics.

This role is not a pure coding position. Heavy application development (e.g. Java microservices) is handled by existing development teams. The focus here is BPS domain expertise, configuration, impact analysis, testing, and effective coordination across business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

BPS Ownership & Configuration

  • Own key BPS configuration (including B1 parameters) and evaluate the impacts of any changes.
  • Support the design and evolution of BPS usage across multiple asset classes and modules.

Functional & Technical Analysis

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and implementation steps within BPS and the surrounding ecosystem.
  • Perform impact analysis across upstream booking models and downstream systems (settlement, reporting, DTCC, etc.).
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues spanning trade capture, allocation, matching, and settlement.
  • Review and interpret logs, data flows, and interfaces (e.g. FIX, MQ, ETL, SFTP, SQL).

Testing & Delivery

  • Define and review test plans and scenarios for new products, changes, and configurations.
  • Ensure appropriate regression coverage across BPS and its interfaces.
  • Help improve delivery cadence for new products and enhancements by clarifying impacts, dependencies, and test scope.

Team Enablement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Coach and mentor analysts and technical team members on BPS behavior, testing, and best practices.
  • Support knowledge transfer from external consultants to internal teams.
  • Contribute to building internal standards, documentation, and reusable patterns for BPS changes.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with front office, operations, compliance, and finance teams in New York to understand requirements and production realities.
  • Represent technology in discussions with business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Coordinate with Broadridge on defects, enhancements, release planning, and module usage.

  • Proven experience with BPS configuration (e.g. B1), functional analysis, and test design.
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate their needs into clear, actionable changes.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
